Big news broke the entire office this afternoon at 1445 hrs. The tension was felt the moment i step my foot into the so-routined-to-punch-in office.
yup. this is the day. 22MARCH07.
Cathay Pacific SIN Airport Operations will be taken over by handling agents.meaning the entire traffic department will be GONE. Retrenched. with the exception of 9 core staff to supervise the new operations.
emotions, tears and confusion were everywhere to be felt within the office. be it the full timer or part timer just like me, we all felt it. we can never bear to say goodbye to each other cause we never had enough of each other everyday, doing our flights together as a team.
our daily walkie conversations on air goes like this .
"departure 734 come in." "arrival to counter come in" "traffic come in" "all concerns,cx711 system shows down by 3 pax" "and etc!!
no more irritating colombo flights and pax. CX 711. Our hkg flights. Cx710/Cx736/Cx714/Cx712/Cx734/Cx716.
my fav duty, arrivals! No more Cx717/Cx739/Cx713 for me.
with this, it's going to be hard for each and everyone of us with SINCX. we've always took pride and glory, bearing the Cathay Pacific badge and uniform. the amount of effort, tears and sweat we took in our daily job.
it will never be another better team then this. our "Service Straight From The Heart", being taught to us since day one we made ourselves into CX.
now, my journey with CX shall end on the 6th May 2007, Sun.
I will mark my 10 months life changing experience with this.So people, next time when you guys check in for any CX flight, though they will be wearing CX very own uniform, but for sure, you can never get a better team then us.
so no one i knew will be able to check me in when i travel this mid may for my hkg trip.but, i will always be proud being part of this big CX family.
I'M PROUD TO BE A CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFICER (though a small fry) with CATHAY PACIFIC AIRWAYS!
how to pick the fallen pieces up again, feeling in despair and helpless,seeing other of my fellow colleauges in a more critical situtaion then i am??
the place where it's always full of life ,vibrant and noise have became like a funeral wake.
though i am leaving anyway with or without this retrenchment,but, i felt emotions over me for the truth that i thought would never be.
it's now time to take a break, for 2 months, then holiday, then back to school in july.
bringing all the memories i had for the people i've met, the new friendships i've made and the joy and tears i've shared along with me, down the path of life.
the big change will be coming along.
